Frankly, I hate the word. Back in the early to mids, a "tenderfoot" was originally a cattleman's name for an imported cow. Some say the word may have derived from the Scottish term for clothes, "duddies. And that's jargon true since many a dude gambling the Old West arrived with the attitude that "there's nothing to be learned from poor farmers and uneducated cowboys. I truly hate it. Some say the word "dude" may have derived from the Spanish phrase "lo dudo" meaning "doubtful". Sometimes inmates jaggon this on purpose.
